Founded in 1866, the ASPCA is the nation’s premier animal welfare organization. Their mission, according to founder Henry Bergh, is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”
ASPCA Pet Health Insurance supports the ASPCA’s mission by helping pet parents give their pets the best veterinary care possible. The ASPCA chose us as their partner because of our “commitment to companion animals and [our] ethical, responsible, and professional approach to helping animals and the humans who care for them.”
Through our licensed agency, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance is marketed to the general public and the ASPCA’s base of over one million supporters. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance offers four increasing levels starting with accident protection then adding coverage for illnesses and two options for wellness care.
We designed ASPCA Pet Health Insurance to uphold the humane standards of the ASPCA. For instance, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance offers coverage for spaying and neutering to support the ASPCA’s beliefs on reproductive health and population control. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance does not cover elective procedures the ASPCA opposes, like tail docking and ear cropping.

The Hartville Group, Inc. is a licensed strategic partner of the ASPCA. In exchange for use of the ASPCA® trademarks, the ASPCA is paid a royalty fee of up to 10% of the purchase price, with a minimum of $1.95 million to be recognized over at least three years.
